Shellgrit is a beautiful, durable and affordable blonde toned reconstituted veneer made from renewable wood species.

It is made by slicing thin sheets from fast-growing, renewable wood and then dyed, glued, and pressed together to create a stunning and consistent finish. One of the most significant benefits of reconstituted veneer is its eco-friendliness. Unlike solid wood, which can be sourced from slow-growing and endangered tree species, reconstituted veneer uses only fast-growing and renewable wood, preserving natural forests and habitats.

In addition to its eco-friendliness, reconstituted veneer is more uniform in colour and grain than natural wood, making it easier to match and apply across large surfaces. It is also highly durable, resistant to warping, cracking, and fading, and is available in a range of styles and finishes to match any design scheme.

Shellgrit is available pressed onto a variety of substrates including Plywood, Raw MDF, Moisture Resistant MDF and High Moisture Resistant Particle Board.

With its durability, consistency, and versatility, it provides an exceptional finish for any project, from furniture to wall panelling to cabinetry.

Important notice: All wood-based panels are by nature potentially subject to bowing, cupping or warping following application of timber veneer. Read our panel manufacturing guidelines to learn more.

Shellgrit Reconstituted Veneer is available FSC-certified or PEFC-certified upon request, subject to market availability.

FSC-certification ensures that materials used in the production of this veneer come from FSC-certified forests, recycled sources and/or FSC controlled wood that meet the environmental and social standards set by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

Similarly, PEFC-certified products come from sustainably managed forests that have been verified by independent experts to ensure they are managed in line with strict international standards.

About Reconstituted Veneer

Reconstituted veneer is made from natural wood strips that are dyed, laminated and sliced to create a unique patterned panel. Because they are man-made, reconstituted veneers are consistent in colour, pattern and grain. This makes them ideal for covering large areas such as wall panels, doors and cabinetry. Reconstituted veneers have similar properties to natural timber veneers and as a wood based product, they are also good for the environment.
