Material: 100% PVC-free ABS Edge Banding
Availability: Stocked Item
Recommended application: For application on panel edges, including MDF, plywood, particleboard, and laminate.
Pre-Glued: No. ABS edge banding requires a hot-melt adhesive system or edge banding machine for proper application. Contact adhesive is not recommended.
Care & Maintenance: Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasives, or solvents. Protect from prolonged water exposure, direct heat, and strong UV light to prevent discolouration. While impact-resistant, excessive force may cause damage.
Wet Area Suitability: Suitable for use in high-humidity environments such as kitchens and bathrooms but should not be exposed to prolonged water contact or submersion. For wet areas, ensure edges are properly sealed to prevent moisture ingress.
Important notice: EVOGRAIN ABS Edging differs in material composition from the matching EVOGRAIN board face. While each match has been stringently reviewed and approved to Bord Products standard for sale, due to light refraction, ABS Edging may be perceived differently depending on light sources and general environment that impacts finish visibility. This natural characteristic of ABS is not classified as a product defect.
What is edge banding?
In the cabinetry and furniture industries edge banding refers to a narrow strip of veneer or ABS plastic placed around the edges of a panel or sheet. Manufacturers use edge banding (or ‘edge band’) to cover the exposed edges of raw panel substrates such as MDF or particleboard. The benefit of edging is two-fold. First, it’s visually more appealing. Once applied it creates the appearance of a solid material or an illusion of solid timber. And second, as it seals the exposed edge and improves the sheets resistance to moisture and damage.
